Family Trip Round II

As some of you may recall, in January of 2016 my parents and I ventured off to Europe for an epic vacation. Along the way we stopped in Israel, France, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. When I think of all the trips I’ve been blessed to take, it is definitely my most memorable trip. After we returned home, my dad immediately ordered a Europe guidebook to help him cope with wanderlust. After discussing our previous vacation with some friends, my dad expressed interest in visiting London and Rome. Initially we planned to visit Europe around thanksgiving 2017 but after I did some research, we agreed visiting Europe in summer would be ideal.

In a little less than 2 weeks, my parents and I will once again venture off to Europe in addition to the middle East and northern Africa. We will visit England, Italy, Jordan, and Egypt. I will be also visiting Belgium, Austria, and Germany solo. I’ve been looking forward to this upcoming adventure for months now. August 18th, can’t come soon enough!!!!

My parents and I have a different traveling style which takes a bit more planning than I’m accustomed to but we make it work. This will be my second time in London but my first time in the summer so I’m sure it will be a different experience. So far I have a walking tour planned, cruise along the Thames, and dinner for my birthday. In Italy we will tour the Vatican, take a gondola ride, visit the islands off Venice, and indulge in Gelato until our hearts are content. In Jordan, we will tour Petra which I know will be a hit with my dad because he’s a huge Indiana Jones fan, which was filmed there. In Egypt we will explore the pyramids of Cairo and venture off to Luxor.

I have no clue how much longer I will be blessed to have my parents here so I do my best to take advantage of every opportunity I have to spend time with them. Since my recent move to Washington D.C, I truly cherish every moment we’re together.

I  encourage each of you to make time for your parents, grandparents, godparents, and loved ones because tomorrow is not promised. Perhaps taking them on vacation isn’t feasible but it doesn’t take much to pick up the phone or perhaps stop by and let them know how much they mean to you.

Have you ever gone on vacation with your parents? How did it go?

If you’ve been to London, Italy, Jordan, or Egypt feel free to share any recommendations or tips!

In September, I’ll post a full recap of our vacation!
