Vanuatu

Vanuatu is a small island country in the South Pacific. It’s a 4 hour flight from Auckland, New Zealand. James and I spent a few days in the capital Port Vila, after we left New Zealand. I first heard about Vanuatu while watching a documentary on National Geographic. The documentary discussed some of the cultural practices on the island. November is their rainy season so we didn’t have much time to explore the island but we had a great time nonetheless! The weather was in the 80’s (F) everyday. The beaches are beautiful and the people are extremely warm!  Vanuatu is a 2 hour flight from nearby Fiji. We stayed at the Warwick Le Lagon, which is a short 15 minute drive from the airport.

Vanuatu is known for diving, snorkeling, bungee jumping and its beautiful waterfalls. Not to be outdone, this small island nation is home to the world’s only Underwater Post Office!

If you find yourself in the South Pacific, be sure to add Vanuatu to your list of islands to explore!
