On the way to Georgia, I had a short layover in Riga. Riga is the perfect place if you have a short layover and want to explore. The city center is 15-20 minutes from the airport. There are locker facilities at the airport should you need to store your bags. If you happen to visit in September, be sure to dress warmly. Due to the brevity of my time in Riga, I was unable to sample Latvian cuisine.
